Hello- I'm actually referring to desktops, not Servers. My desktops run in the Tivoli endpoint, and I could pass the event up to my Event Management environment to send out notification when this activity is happening. Thanx.

Is there an entry made in any of the Windows event logs when a USB drive is connected, and if so, which log, what entry id number. If not, is there a way I can configure my system to do so?

I've un-installed and re-installed Outlook Express several times on my WinXP Home machine, and everytime a message comes in, the body is blank, either in the preview pane, or even when I open up the message to view it.. All else with the message is fine. Any suggestions?

Sunil- Thanx for all of your help. The server is now functioning normally, however, I have to get my hands on the SmartStart cd so that I can configure and install my OS on the box, which will be a W2K/vmware box.. And yes, the Core frequency switches have been set: SW1 and SW2 are ON (up position) SW3 and SW4 are OFF (down position)

Done, but server will not power up, Have Processor 1 with Power Module installed in slots 7 and 8, and have terminator boards installed in the remaining 3 processor slots. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

Hello Michael, Have you updated the system bios?? If not you might wanna do the update from the following link: http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/locate/20_1108.html#4 Please make sure you update with the right one. One more question for you. Did you set the dip switches properly?? Or I should ask did you modify them at all?? Please let me know if I can be of any assistance. Regards, Sunil- I downloaded the rompaq (sp20622.exe) to a diskette and attempted to boot the server, with no success.. No, I did not change the DIP switches, as I don't have documentation to set the dip switches correctly, so if you could provide the info or a link to the info? What would be the logical steps to follow.. understanding that I cannot even boot this system, as it had no processors at all when I got it, but was able to get my hands on the 3 500mHZ processors. Thank you.

I have a Compaq Proliant that I installed 3 PII 500mhZ Xeon processors in, however, the system comes up that unsupported processors are detected. This was a box that I rebuilt, as when I acquired it, it had no processors or memory. I believe that the box formerly contained 400mhZ processors. Can and How do I update the microcode to accept the new processors and boot up? Thanx.

Hey guys- Right now, the scp completes without incident when I execute it from the command line. The issue occurs when I attempt to run this script from within TWS. I am still investigating and will keep you updated on my progress. Mike-

I am trying to execute an SCP between two servers. The servers are configured with ssh of course, but when the script runs, as I have issued the command: scp -v -q FILE USER@DESTINATION:/DIRECTORY the script seems to hang. I decided to write output of script to a file, and the only significant thing I see is that I see a "Host key verification failed", which makes me inclined to believe that I may have corrupt keys. Any suggestions? Thanx in advance. Mike-

Andre- The two more dominant X-emulation software applications are Exceed and Reflection X.. I believe that Reflection is the more inexpensive, but don't quote me on that.. I've found that the easiest one to use would be Reflection, as its Wizards are more easily accessible, allowing you to create client files for access to different machines, etc.. Mike-

Jerad- Try typing in 'stty sane' and press ENTER. Then press Ctrl-J Another thing to try is to turn off the monitor, hold down the left shift key and turn the Console back on. This should reset the console back to normal. Mike-

1.Who are you logged in as, yourself, or root? Also, what shell are you running, ksh, csh, sh? 2. When you execute the xhost command, what result do you get in return? 3. For ksh, the above should work.. if its csh, your export command should be: setenv DISPLAY hostname:0.0 For sh, do it in two commands: DISPLAY=hostname:0.0 export DISPLAY Mike-

Hey guys- Looking for HPUX or compatible product that will allow me to create a cluster of HP boxes that will perform load balancing.. Currently, I've got two N Classes (an 8-way and a 4-way) that I was looking in the interim to upgrade to 11i from 11.0 and install PRM, but I'm looking for other solutions... any suggestions appreciated.. Lubo- Have you tried booting it from an alternate device by interrupting the process when you see the messages to do so after you have turned it on, load a cdrom into the drive, change your boot path and see if it will then boot up successfully? Mike

Hello- Just to add to what James stated: "your.place.com" on the line starting with DS in most cases is the name of your SMTP host/relay address that mail will be forwarded to.. i.e. exchangeserver.yourcompany.com Make sure that your UNIX server can resolve the name either by DNS or /etc/hosts.
