Re: Device patch..

Make sure the unclaimed card(s) are supported by your server class. Not all PCI cards are supported by all 9000 series classes of servers. If you post your card type and system model, someone can tell you if they are compatible or not, or better can show you where to find the compatibility matrix for your server.

If everything is compatible (which I seriously doubt)
insf -e
should create all the device paths.

Re: Device patch..

Install Server FDDI/9000 from the application CD that will enable the OS to identify the cards.

Re: Device patch..

Hi,

Even after installing the FDDI driver, Driver module may not be claimed.
Manually driver module needs to make it in using SAM --> Kernel Configuration -->Drivers. i.e. fddi4,

It ask for reboot.

Re: Device patch..

Hi,

You need to install the FDDI driver from HP-UX application CD & activate the FDDI driver on HP-UX kernel (SAM > Kernel Configuration > Drivers).

On the HP-UX kernel, the driver should be at 'IN' status.

Check the url below also for the documentation about 'Installing and Administering HP FDDI/9000 Software' :

http://docs.hp.com/en/J2157-90013/J2157-90013.pdf

Hope this information can help you.
