Re: diagmond daemon is auto shutdown

You have hardware errors on system. check syslog. run the command that EMS message asks you to run.

Hi

Is there any entry like
"EMS [3208]: ------ EMS Event Notification ------ Value: "MAJORWARNING (3)" for Resource: ....." in syslog?

Re: diagmond daemon is auto shutdown

signal 6 is SIGABRT. Abort signal. It may create core file also. it is stopped by external process (may be) or system for resource crunch.

hth.
Easy to suggest when don't know about the problem!

Re: diagmond daemon is auto shutdown

Hi,

This is a system warning from diagnostic; check the url below if you have A6826A and Fibre Channel Ports on A9782A and A9784A on your system (docID : 8606342963) :

http://www1.itrc.hp.com/service/cki/docDisplay.do?docLocale=en_US&docId=200000074839254

You need to check also with ioscan, to make sure everything on your system with CLAIMED status :

# ioscan -nf

Check also the log at /var/opt/resmon/log/event.log, check the latest log (see the timestamp).

If you use SCSI device as external device, check the SCSI cable connection, the terminator.

Check also whether you using the latest STM version plus check whether the STM patches already applied.

Hope this information can help you.

Cheers,
AW

Re: diagmond daemon is auto shutdown

Does it start when you try to start it??

/sbin/init.d/diagnostic start

Re: diagmond daemon is auto shutdown

Is there a syslog.log entry for the "DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM WARNING" message, and is it at the same time as the 'unexpected signal' for diagmond?

Check you have the latest OnlineDiags. For 10.20 (which I'm sure you know is now out of support) is A.29.00 plus PHSS_29444 (for s800, or PHSS_29443 for s700).

Try restarting the OnlineDiags:

# /sbin/init.d/diagnostic stop

# /sbin/init.d/diagnostic start

(Just doing the start may not work, as the other daemons (memlogd, cclogd, etc.) may still be left running).
