Re: diagnostic patch installation problem

First uninstall both stm versions.

Then retry the newer one, below is the content of the ???missing???(is it there?) file
# pdcinfo configuration.
#
# PDCINFO: Set to 1 to save PDC log(s) during boot.
# Set to 0 to disable saving PDC log(s) during boot.
#
# WARNING: Disabling pdcinfo system will disable automatic saving of hardware
# logs that may be essential to determining the cause of a system
# crash.
#
# Without the above, information that could help prevent a
# system or peripheral failure will be lost. In addition, if
# a failure occurs, HP may not have the tools or data to
# diagnose the cause of the problem in a timely manner. This
# may cause increased downtime and possible future failures.

Re: diagnostic patch installation problem

Hi bhavin,

And the file should be owned by bin with read permissions for everybody.

What output do you get from:

#ll /etc/rc.config.d/pdcinfo

Re: diagnostic patch installation problem

I only have this last cc_translator file at the server with OnlineDiag installed. It's an executable file.

Since I'm also on HP-UX 11.0, you can try it again with the attached cc_translator file if you want but you may have an infinite work if there are more files missing...

Re: diagnostic patch installation problem

Hi,

One more try (I'm living the office after this post):

Check /etc/hosts file:

...

...
127.0.0.1 localhost loopback
...

You cannot have another thing at loopback ip address line!

Re: diagnostic patch installation problem

hi,

for the information.
eric gave me the answer which is almost near to solution.

the problem was not the loopback entry.my system is having one lan card which one's cable is disconnected.this lan ip address was given as the first line of /etc/hosts.i changed it to other lan ip address .it worked fine.

once again thanks to all
