Re: difference b/w hpvm and hp vse
HP VM is a Virtual Machine software, which is almost similar to VMWare kind of solutions.
Where as HP Insight Dynamics ( formerly known as VSE or Virtual Server Environment ) is a toolkit for your physical and virtual resources.
In other words, Insight Dynamics is a software generally for the servers. Latest version supports Integrity Virtual Machines, HP Partition Continuum (nPar and vPar ), i2 Blades etc.
Some docs to read.

HPVM and HP-VSE are not same.
HP Insight Dynamics - VSE allows you to:
- Provision your infrastructure in minutes with automated activation of servers, storage and networking
- Optimize infrastructure confidently with built-in capacity planning and rebalancing tools
- Protect continuity of services with automated failover
For more details, Have a look at following:
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/solutions/insightdynamics/vse-overview.html
HP Integrity Virtual Machines (Integrity VM/HPVM) â an extension of the existing Partitioning Continuum that blends the benefits of HP-UX Virtual Partitions (vPars) and HP Process Resource Manager (PRM). Virtual partitions allow you to create partitions to the granularity of the hardware (CPU, I/O card) with each partition running its own version of an operating system. For more details, Have a look at following:
