Distance.

between nodes, specifically. Picture metro as city-wide, continental as country(or continent)-wide.

Re: Difference between a Metro Cluster and a Continental Cluster ?

Hi,

The names themselves indicate the difference

Metropolitan - Within the cities where the data replication is done through high speed or dedicated network
Continental - Seperated by huge distance basically over wan.

To find the technical differences, look at the following document

http://docs.hp.com/hpux/onlinedocs/B7660-90013/B7660-90013.html

Disaster Tolerance and Recovery in an MC/ServiceGuard Cluster -> Types of Disaster Tolerant clusters

The difference is clearly explained with the diagrams.

Re: Difference between a Metro Cluster and a Continental Cluster ?

The reakl differecne is:
Metrocluster is ONE single cluster, all on the same subnet.
Continental Cluster is TWO (or possibly more) Separate clusters, posibly on different networks, that have the ability to recover a package from one cluster to another.
