Difference between ISL> ,and HPUX>
Hi Admins,
What is the difference between following two prompts.
isl >
and
hpux >
Is there any major difference?

Hello,
ISL means Initial System Loader. It is only available on PA-RISC systems and its function is to load the "HPUX" program. This is the ISL> prompt.
The HPUX program itself (HPUX> prompt) is the HP-UX bootstrap utility and its purpose is to load HPUX kernel from /stand filesystem.
Hope this briefly explains your question.
