Different SCSI address for disk in boot search and ioscan
I have a B2600 with HP-UX 10.20.
There are 1 internal and 3 external disks, with disk mirroring.
The boot disk mirror turns up as SCSI address 14 when searching for bootable devices, and at address 10 when running ioscan. Therefore the station will not boot, unless I disable mirroring, using:
hpux -is -lq (;0)/stand/vmunix
How could this happen, and how can I fix the addressing?
ioscan: (Disk 6 = boot. Disk 10 = mirror of 6)
disk 1 10/0/15/0.6.0 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE HP 36.4GMAP3367NC
disk 3 10/1/3/0.8.0 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE HP 36.4GST336753LC
disk 4 10/1/3/0.10.0 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE HP 36.4GMAS3367NC
disk 5 10/1/3/0.12.0 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE HP 36.4GMAS3367NC
-------------------------------------------
Boot search:
Main Menu: Enter command > sea
Searching for potential boot device(s)...
Path Number Device Path Device Type
----------- ----------------- -----------
P0 IDE HL-DT-STDVD-ROM GDR8161B
P1 FWSCSI.6.0 HP 36.4GMAP3367NC
P2 PCI3.14.0 HP 36.4GMAS3367NC
P3 PCI3.12.0 HP 36.4GMAS3367NC
P4 PCI3.8.0 HP 36.4GST336753LC

Re: Different SCSI address for disk in boot search and ioscan
Shalom,
Can you post lvlnboot -v output?
The boot search information seems consistent with earlier information.
