Digi One Serial Device Adapters?
I have a single ADDS 4000/160 terminal which is standing between me and eliminating all the DTCs at my remote site (because it has a scale attached, the app cannot be run on a PC until our software migration in 2 months). I want to get rid of the DTCs because they won't work on our new Cisco routed network.
So basically, I'd like to figure out how to attach this ONE terminal to an IP/Ethernet network. I've come across numerous recommendations for the Digi products. Specifically, the Digi One Single Port adapter looks perfect. I need this RS232-connected terminal to connect via TELNET to ONE HP-UX 11.0 host--that's it. Nothing fancy, nothing more than recreating the current DTC telnet session.
Anybody have experience with the Digi products? They seem to be the most reputable out there, and $150 beats the hell out of the cost of maintaining 2 WAN connections for the next 3 months.
Thanks for any advice you can offer.

Re: Digi One Serial Device Adapters?
Haven't used the Digi One but we have a pile of Digi boards (providing 16 extra serial ports) out there and they never gave us a bit of trouble.

Re: Digi One Serial Device Adapters?
I saw some horror stories of the Digi RealPort software crashing AIX, but so far, no reports of problems with HP-UX. I don't think we'd even need the software, since I just need the straight-through telnet session, but I want to make sure I explore the options before I do anything.
Thanks.
Thanks.
