Re: Disaster Recovery files

Rushank,

I have got a dirty script that can copy important files and dumps into a compressed tar ball in /tmp. You can copy it to some central repository. It's a simple script and you can add anything to it.

Shridhar,

Thank you very much. Your script is really helpful to start with.

Re: Disaster Recovery files

Our procedure so far is to do a network ignite recovery and then restore /etc, /var/adm and /var/spool.
Are we missing anything important?

Re: Disaster Recovery files

hi,

the info we collect is
the output of:
bdf,kmtune,df,inq,lanscan,
swlist,swstat,vgdisplay

and the files which is
copied are:
fstab,group,hosts,hosts.equiv
inetd.conf lvmconf lvmpvg
lvmrc lvmtab netconf oratab
passwd,resolv.conf,services,system.

This information is
stored in a separate directory
which is backed up.

Re: Disaster Recovery files

There are several good ones out there. Nickel may be the most appropriate for what you are looking for;

nickel:

Hope this helps.
