Disk Arrray problem with reboot

5 Disk Array for RAID5 but before shut down the server (HP H60, HP-UX v.11.0), one of five disk array had fault (for service LED).
My problem is when I reboot the server,it stuck on ....ISL booting hpux....Boot....disc(8.0.0;0)/stand/vmunix....Logical volume 64,0x3 configured as Root....What should I do?
Can I replace that fault disk by another new disk?

Re: Disk Arrray problem with reboot

Hi Kannikar,

H60 is too historical in my memory. I assume that the boot disk is internal and not part of your 5 disk array. If so, you shouldn't have any issues booting the OS unless you have configured some of the lvols like /usr, /opt etc., on the external VG from the disk array. Shutdown the server and then the disk array. Switch on the disk array, wait for couple of minutes and then boot the system.

Post how your VGs are configured so one can be able to assist you better.
