In hpux the disk device name was cxtxdx, why only four disk have sx?
Example:
disk 14 0/0/8/1/0/4/0.1.0.0.0.0.3 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE HP HSV210
/dev/dsk/c7t0d3 /dev/dsk/c7t0d3s2 /dev/rdsk/c7t0d3 /dev/rdsk/c7t0d3s2
/dev/dsk/c7t0d3s1 /dev/dsk/c7t0d3s3 /dev/rdsk/c7t0d3s1 /dev/rdsk/c7t0d3s3
disk 19 0/0/8/1/0/4/0.1.0.0.0.0.5 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE HP HSV210
/dev/dsk/c7t0d5 /dev/rdsk/c7t0d5
disk 21 0/0/8/1/0/4/0.1.0.0.0.0.6 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE HP HSV210

Solutiononly the boot disks generally have the s1/2/3 added to them.
that is because the boot disks need to be partitioned on the itanium systems. you are just seeing the dev files for each partition as well.
hpus is installed in the s2 partition

HPSP 400MB
thats why u will find diffrent slice on root disk.
