disk image is incompatible with this system

Hi,
after importing previous mounted vxfs file system (on LVM)- - i can't mount all file system.
the file system was created on IA 64 HPUX 11.23, and imported on PA Risc 2.0 11.11.
when attempting to mount
i receive the following error -
disk image is incompatible with this system
I can mount other file systems that were import from the same HPUX 11.23 machine,
but located on other lvol.
when issuing fstyp command on this volume i receive unknown_fstyp (no matches).
all file systems, those that i was able to mount and also those that i wasnt able to mount, were created the same, with newfs with no special parameters.
any ideas?

Hi:

Was the file system created with an 8K blocksize? If so, you probably need PHKL_33158.

well I think i formatted that fs 8k, but i can't rememer .. i don't have the original host now...
installing this patch didnt help much...

i can't install this patch - the error i receive is that the fileset
VRTSvxfs.VXFS-KRN,fr=3.5-ga15,v=HP
how can i get it?

Hi (again):

This sounds as if you don't have VxVM installed on 11.11. Do:

# swlist -l product | grep -i vxvm

You need at least the base version to install the patch.

the fileset vxfs3.5 missing means that You're version of vxfs (HP calls it JFS) is too old to be compatible with the version in 11.23 - that's why You get an error with fstyp!

On 11.11 You're using JFS 3.3 (version 3/4 vxfs)
On 11.25 You're using JFS 3.5 (version 5 vxfs)

You have these two choices:

- Install JFS 3.5 on the 11.11 and requesite patches (reboot required)
- Re-create the filesystem on the 11.11 or 11.23 host (doesn't matter which one)
with newfs -Fvxfs -o largefiles -version=4 /dev/vgxx/rlvolxx
(I don't think a downgrade conversion can be done)
