Disk Mirroring.
call them VG01 and VG01 ( two drives per VG )
(one LVOL per VG)
On the system we get a lbolt SCSI bus reset
after which on the mirrored VGs I can see dir structure but NO DATA FILES.
If I lvsplit the LVOL and FSCK the drives and mount the split lvol I see the data
then I lvmerg the lvol back together and I can see the datafiles again.
System - N4000 11.0 3GB mem patched through Sep 2001. any input?

Re: Disk Mirroring.
Not sure I can help but let's see if I've got this right...
You're using MirrorDisk/UX
You have 2 Volume Groups
Each VG has 1 Logical Volume
Each VG has 2 physical volumes
Both LVs are mirrored
What does lvdisplay -v show on these LVs once you have the problem? Do any PEs show as stale? What does the LV Status show? What are the disks (internal, array, SAN)?

Re: Disk Mirroring.
The system is a external attach Jamica with 6 18 GB drives. I cant give you the LVDISPLAY info as of right now because I have vgcfgrestored the vgs to get the system back up. I will make sure I get an out of lvdisplay the next time it occurs.

Re: Disk Mirroring.
I would look at the most recent patches for lvm, vxfs, scii etc...etc...
What you explaned should not happen.

Re: Disk Mirroring.
I would check for a failed disk on the bus or duplicate SCSI IDs.
Can you send us the whole lbolt SCSI bus reset
error output?
Xavier.
