I am installing a disk system 2300 with 2 BCCs, 9 hard disks, in full bus mode so that 2 hosts can access it. Host A's HBA is having scsi id as 7 and Host B's HBA is having scsi id as 13. The connection is as follows:
Host A's HBA to BCC1 port A. BCC1 port B to BCC2's port A. BCC2's port B to Host B's HBA.
Presently both the systems fail to boot and report "software Failure" while the PDC is getting loaded.
Has anybody configured DS2300 in full bus with 2 hosts?

Re: Disk System 2300 in full bus mode and 2 hosts
You shoud set SCSI ID to 7 (default) in one host and to 6 in second host.

Solution
In full bus mode the second BCC doesn't do anything. Your cabling should be:
HOST-A-HBA----BCC1-A
HOST-B-HBA----BCC1-B
That's it.
Also as mentioned the 2nd HBA should have a SCSI ID of 6, as this has the next highest priority on the bus after ID 7. This does of course mean that you can't put a disk in slot 7 as this will also get an ID of 6. Simply load your 9 disks in slots 1-6 and 8-10
