Re: diskinfo show different size vs the actual device
What type of EMC storage have you got ? Symmextrix/Clariion ?
You would better served creating smaller LUN's so that you can present them to more systems, and then have the flexibility to add them as required to more than one volume group. Even if you were using them on a windows based system you could create what is called a 'meta' where you group a number of LUN's into one single LUN.

Re: diskinfo show different size vs the actual device
For example if your using 181Gb disks, you must split them into a minimum of 12 logical LUN's, 73Gb for memory is 5.
Please advise the actual method your using to create these LUN's?
So it seems you could be creating 'meta' LUN's.

Michael

Re: diskinfo show different size vs the actual device
We created a "Meta volume " with a size of 345G. After rebooted the host, diskinfo shows the proper size. I don't know whether or not this is a OS issue or EMC issue.

Re: diskinfo show different size vs the actual device
Diskinfo actually does not physically query the drive if the information about the drive is already cached. If you previously created 212GB drive and you destroyed and created a new one with the same LUN number, then yours was the case.
There are patches to fix this problem. In the patches site search for the keyword "diskinfo" and see if it finds any patches that are not there on the system.
