Disks service time - sar

Hello,
I see in sar report that average service time for my disks (EMC storage), is 30-50 ms

Is it normal and if not what are the normal service times?

Thanx.

Hi,

What type of EMC array and what type of disks?

CX300, cx500 or cx700?
36GB or 73 GB or ???

Re: Disks service time - sar

I'm pretty sure it's 500 and disks are 36GB

Re: Disks service time - sar

Hi,

The disks themselves (36GB) have between 2-4 ms.

You should login to the navisphere GUI and check the performance from there.

The CX500 has a good interface for that purpose.

You can also tuned a bit the ratio of read/write cache.
