DLT 8000 and fbackup PROBLEM
I need your help.
I recently installed a HP DLT8000 Tape Drive on my HP workstation B180L. I have some problem with fbackup comand.
When i usind tar with the file /dev/rmt/0m i can write and read the file on the DLT if i use fbackup command, SAM tell me that the /dev/rmt/0m file is not a good output file
Can you help me??

You need to get SAM patch PHCO_23876 from the ITRC patch database and install it. This will fix the DLT8000 error SAM is reporting. A reboot is *not* required to install this patch.

Are you sure /dev/rmt/0m is your DLT, and not a regular file on disk?
Do an ioscan -fnC tape, also try:
mt -t /dev/rmt/0m status
and
ls -l /dev/rmt/0m
live free or die

The latest patch on 10.20 for this problem is PHKL_22854.

This needs a reboot.
