dmesg error classification
Hi all,
Where can I find a doc about the HP-UX dmesg errors description and which would be listed in order of severity (Critical,Warning,...)?
Thanks in advance.

Re: dmesg error classification
Error messages in 'dmesg' are not actually catalogued. generally messages that appear their are:
kernel based messages that relate to a tunable parameter
full file system messages
system startup messages.
Most system messages will appear in the /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log file. They vary as to what they are, from kernel based, su, hardware etc. Some generated from EMS will have critical, warning etc, depending on they are set up within EMS.
Add on modules to HP-UX carry their own logging as well.

Re: dmesg error classification
Hi,
If you got access to the itrc technical knowledge base, you could search for dmesg.
http://www4.itrc.hp.com/service/cki/search.do?category=c0&mode=text&searchString=dmesg&search.x=0&search.y=0&searchCrit=allwords&docType=Security&docType=Patch&docType=EngineerNotes&docType=BugReports&docType=Hardware&docType=ReferenceMaterials&docType=ThirdParty
Hope it helps,
Robert-Jan.
