dmx new host discover hba
Hi,
trying to attach a new host to a dmx800:
I've just installed solution enabler v5.50
From the host I can:
root/svuxrc02#./symmask discover hba
Symmetrix ID : 000187900503
Device Masking Status : Success
Identifier Type User-generated
50060b0000080c0a Fibre svuxrc02/0-6-2-0
But when I query the box , i can't see the gate-keeper device:
root/svuxrc02#./symmaskdb -sid 0503 list database
--> nothing from host svuxrc02???
What am i doing wrong?

Re: dmx new host discover hba
Are you direct connect or through a SAN switch?
The process is:
1. Plan your storage changes
2. Zone the server into the SAN and â connectâ it to the FA in question (only done one time.)
3. Present HyperVolumes to the FA that is zoned to the server.
4. LUN Mask the HVs to the HBA on the server.
5. Rescan devices on the server to see the new disks.
So, did you present the volumes to the FA? If this is a new host, did you create zones? Where are you in process?
Do a "symcfg discover" to update the "local configuration database" on the serv
