DNS question
Dear All,
I have one question of hp-ux name server.
Bind(8.2.4) is running on hp-ux(B.11.00)
and when I lookup some domain from windows client, the result is something different on the other DNS server.
Normally the result of NSLOOKUP(q=all) is like below,
> set q=all
> mydomain.com
Server: sample.com
Address: ***.***.***.***
mydomain.com
primary name server = ns01.mydomain.com
responsible mail addr =postmaster.mydomain.com
serial = 2007000003
refresh = 10800 (3 hours)
retry = 900 (15 mins)
expire = 604800 (7 days)
default TTL = 900 (15 mins)
mydomain.com nameserver = ns01.mydomain.com
mydomain.com nameserver = ns02.mydomain.com
ns01.mydomain.com internet address = ***.***.***.***
ns02.mydomain.com internet address = ***.***.***.***
However, I lookup on hp-ux server from windows client, the result is like below,
> set q=all
> mydomain.com
Server: hp-ux-serv.com
Address: ***.***.***.***
mydomain.com nameserver = ns01.mydomain.com
mydomain.com nameserver = ns02.mydomain.com
mydomain.com
primary name server = ns01.mydomain.com
responsible mail addr =postmaster.mydomain.com
serial = 2007000003
refresh = 10800 (3 hours)
retry = 900 (15 mins)
expire = 604800 (7 days)
default TTL = 900 (15 mins)
mydomain.com nameserver = ns01.mydomain.com
mydomain.com nameserver = ns02.mydomain.comp
ns01.mydomain.com internet address = ***.***.***.***
ns02.mydomain.com internet address = ***.***.***.***
The point of my question is,
why 'nameserver' is shown twice on hp-ux server when I lookup ?
Is this the default behavior of hp-ux ??
Thank you.

Re: DNS question
Because both ns01.mydomain.com and ns02.mydomain.com are authorative for your domain.
