A common problem with the A500 servers (and all rp24xx servers), is the pci card cage. When you install card you have to remove the PCI cage and when you re-install the cage it does not always sit properly and you do not see any of the cards that you installed. Take a look at the ioscan listing, if you are missing any hardware paths that start with 0/2, 0/4, 0/6, these are all "ba", bus adapters on the cage, then the entire pci cage is not installed properly or it got damaged. Compare the ioscan listing with that of another A500 if you have one.
