Documentation for HP 700/RX

Hi everybody

After a university mustered out some HP700/RX X-Terminals, I received one. Unfortunatly I do not own a documentation. Does anybody know where I can get one?

The 700RX is more or less obsolete now, the enware 7.11 S/W used to boot the things contains documentation in ps and other formats : see

/opt/hpxt/enware/xthome/doc/TECHREF.LJ.Z and PS.Z files.

The hard copy manual I beleive is no longer being printed.

You maybe able to get by just by installing enware S/W and configuring the xterminal via sam using xtadm. Then just set the config details via the xterminals screen F12 or goto config add netwk and hostname details and reboor the xterminal .

NB it maybe worth your while factory defaulting the box first to get rid of any previous configurations first ... again use config menu or see earlier post on 700/RX's

So I thonl I have a problem. I do not have a software.
Is this SW needed with the X-Server?

Yes. This (very old) Xterminal has no Xwindow code stored inside and must be downloaded from a server. Without the code, it won't function.

even worse it's a purchaseable product on the apps CD, you'd need enware 7.11 as it contains the old 6.x binaries for 700RX's.

ps you are aware the S/W needs to install on a unix box, unless the xterminal has a Rom card.

10.xx or 11.xx server ?
