Re: Does HP come in 32 bit architecture?

HPUX 11.11 (the latest for PA-RISC architecture if you discount 11.23PI) is available as 32bit and 64bit.

I don't know about 11.23PI.

Re: Does HP come in 32 bit architecture?

It depends on the platform you're installing onto. The support is there but only on certain platforms:

Re: Does HP come in 32 bit architecture?

HP has not built a 32bit platform for a couple of years. All RP models are 64bit. Now it is important to note that the 64bit models require a 64bit OS, but HP-UX 64bits can run 32 programs just fine. The only issues are with applications that are a little too 'cute' in design making them not very portable. If you have an application in which the vendor refuses to make compatible with a 64bit OS (HP-UX has had 64bits since 1997), it's time to look for either a new vendor or look at eBay for used HP computers like the D-class and K-class.

Re: Does HP come in 32 bit architecture?

As the above replies yes...

But why do you want it? My guess is you want to upgrade an onld k-class or something similar. If so there are a few gotyas.
o The EISA cards are not supported (as far as I'm aware anyway)
o If you are using 11i v1 32-bit, the hardware will probably be approaching end-of-support.

If you are upgrading say a k-class you may find it has 32/64 bit CPU, so it may be worthwhile upgrading the F/W to go 64-bit..

Good luck

Just in case by 32-bit you are thinking x86, there is no x86 release for HP-UX.

Re: Does HP come in 32 bit architecture?

Gideon, 11.23PI is 64 bits only.
Some "older" systema can run 64 or 32 bit HP-UX. If you are looking for 32 bit only you are looking at realy old HW.
So to better answer your question please tell us why/what you want the 32 bit architecture for.

Re: Does HP come in 32 bit architecture?

HP-UX 11.x is available in both 32- and 64-bit versions. The 32-bit version runs on 32- and 64-bit PA RISC processors (except the V-class, which is 64-bit only), while the 64-bit version runs only on the 64-bit PA-RISC 8x00 processors. Support for both 32- and 64-bit versions of HP-UX on most 64-bit processors allows you to choose when to upgrade your operating environment.

HP-UX 32 bit - Intel® Itanium® - HP-UX 11.20
HP-UX 32-bit - HP 32-bit - HP-UX 10.2, 11.20
