Does ignite-ux for hpux 10.20 still can download ?
Hi Experts,
Customer had a unix workstation running on 10.20. But the internal OS harddisk not stable and always run 1-2 hour then hang. So customer for solution to protect their data and os. I suggest use mirror disk. But before implement the mirroring, I like do a recovery tape for the os and data. I have few questions to ask
1) does the ignite-ux in the 10.20 OS CD? if dont have and where can download the ignite-ux?
2) does the mirroring step on 10.20 same as 11.0?
3) Beside the mirroring, is any other good solution ?
Regards
Leon

Since the 10.20 OS is not supported, its not on software.hp.com
But, I believe HP does keep the depot files somewhere. To gain access you'll need to contact HP via the response center or your local HP representitive.
Alternatively, if you are not picky about what version to use, you can pull them off old applicaiton cd's.
1) there is a procedure under 11.00 for makding a bootable ignite cd. Tape is much easier and straightforward to work with.
2) You need mirror/ux, I'm not aware as to whether mirror configuration is preserved. It is under 11i, but you'll need to test that.
3) Ignite is the best and only viable solution for bootable disaster recovery under HP-UX.

Re: Does ignite-ux for hpux 10.20 still can download ?
Leon,
1) I don't think so. I've been unable to get to that site for the last month or so:
http://www.software.hp.com/cgi-bin/swdepot_parser.cgi/cgi/displayProductInfo.pl?productNumber=IGNITEUX
2) Yes mirroring steps are the same.
3) You could use dd to copy the entire disk to an identical one, but I think mirroring is going to be a better solution.
