hii friends,
it looks like rp3440 server does not have parallel port I/O cards. we need to connect a parallel printer to rp3440 server (HP-UX 11v2). i suggested to use HP jet direct card. but since it is bank they don't want the data to be put on network & rather need direct printing. I want to know whether USB printers are supported on HP-UX 11v2. if not possible is there any other solution to connect the usb or parallel printer direct to server.

Re: Dot Matrix printer for HP-UX server.
if you have (or can get) serial ports, how about a serial-to-parallel converter.
something like this:

Re: Dot Matrix printer for HP-UX server.
USB support is for keyboard and mouse only.
A serial port could added to the rp3440 (J2535A) for output to a serial printer

Solution
Direct-connected devices are really a thing of the past; however, a method that should satisfy your reuirements would be to put an additional network card (or find an otherwise unused network port) and create a dedicated network connecton to an external jetdirect card. This would effectively be the same thing as a dedicated parallel port.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.
