Re: Double Olympian

Many congratulations ... and thank you very much !!!
When I have a problem I only need to search in the web and I??m sure that if the solution is not posted in this forum I have a real PROBLEM.
All of you have helped me many times ( and I never post a question ), A. Clay, Steven Protter, James Fergusson, Patrick Walleck, Bill Hasell, etc, a lot of guys sharing their knowledge.
So, thank you very much Clay, and all of you guys. Olympian, Kings, Wizards, Graduates, Pro??s ... not really important, only people who help others ... that??s great !
So, congratulations to all, and keep your postings please.
And sorry for my poor english ;-)

*** Please no points for this. ***

Kind regards,

Re: Double Olympian

Wow Mr. Clay

You are a true inspiration for any system admin.
Keep up the great work and hope that you are around for many more years and never stop passing on the knowledge that you have.

It would be great if you wrote a book or at least an e-book.

Best wishes,
Richard

Congratulations Clay!

A truely remarkable achievement, averaging almost 700 points per month in your five years here. I hope the forums still provide a place where you can learn from too, even if you never need to ask.

Regards,

James.

Re: Double Olympian

Clay,

I wish I knew what to add to this thread that would be meaningful, but it looks like most of it has been said already.

All I can think of at this time is to add my most sincere Congratulations to you on this wonderful achievement and to thank you for all of the time that you have contributed to this forum.

So many people have learned so much from you (including myself). If you were to never post another response you would still go down in forum history as one of the greatest resources that this (and perhaps any other) forum has ever seen. I hope you will choose to continue sharing your vast knowledge with the rest of us as unselfishly as you have done in the past.

Again, many MANY thanks to you for all you have done for us all.

I???m sorry I won???t be able to make it to HP World this year. I would love the chance to shake you hand and thank you in person???

Re: Double Olympian

Hi boys and girls:

Thank you for the kind words and remarks. I must say that I learn a great deal about systems by participating in the Forums. It is true that I have a fair amount of "free" time but only because my boxes almost run themselves and VP/O oversees everything but I initially worked like crazy to get everything as stable as it now is.

I still don't know if I will attend HP World this year. I haven't received a "No" but neither have I received a "Yes". My company was acquired by DuPont last year so the decision chain is now much longer than before.

JP : I do not have an exaggerated level of self-confidence; I have an EXACT level of self-confidence --- and I state that most confidently.

I would also like to make a small correction: I was not the first Olympian; that distinction belongs to JRF --- and I suspect that he too will soon get a double heaping helping of Green Salad (though I wish it were turnip greens).

Warm regards to all my friends (virtual and otherwise),
Clay

Re: Double Olympian

Clay, excuse me for my misstatement & I certainly send sincere apologies to JRF.
Guess my memory is failing me, but I could have sworn you edged him out.
It was what - about Mar/Apr 2002?
Oh well....hell getting older, huh?

Re: Double Olympian

Hi Clay,

As the unintentional author of what is probably the funniest Forums thread, I want to add my congratulations to all the others.

Update: The engineering consultant is still on barely speaking terms with my boss and me. We were at a reception a few weeks ago and he went out of his way to avoid us!

Best wishes and thanks for all your help,
your pal,
