Are attempting to boot from the CD ?

What method or procedure are you trying?
Anyone for a Mutiny ?

Re: downgrade from 11 to 10.20

Hi,

to install a C3000 workstation with HP-UX 10.20 you need a special Core-OS CD:

Core-Os 10.20 ACE4 from 99/06

This Core-OS CD contains the necessary ACE patchbundle. Without this patches you are not able to install this system.

Re: downgrade from 11 to 10.20

What steps are you following?
You need to boot the machine, interrupt the boot process, search for the boot path of the CD drive, and enter that boot path.

Need more info.

Re: downgrade from 11 to 10.20

status ???4 is usually a scsi error.
check all you scsi cables and make sure your terminated. Also look for bent pins.
Then try again.

Martin

Looks like cpu0 has problems - place a hardware support call.

Re: downgrade from 11 to 10.20

ENTRY_INIT -4 Causes:
- the disk is experiencing hardware faults and needs replacing.
- the path to the disk is experiencing problems. e.g.. Termination,
cabling, SCSI adapter, SCSI adapter seating.

Guess it could also be the CD it's self.
make sure the CD is in good shape

Re: downgrade from 11 to 10.20

Probably I am not familiar. I never heard of any server called AC-3000. Can you confirm it?.

Thanks,
Sridhar

Re: downgrade from 11 to 10.20

Hi,

Could it be there is some hardware in the machine which was not supported at the time of the release of the ACE 99 cd ?

That could explain the reason why the install is failing !

I am not sure if these error's are related to such an issue.

Re: downgrade from 11 to 10.20

Finally HP-ux 10.20 could be installed by deleting some config files (vmunix) for the HP-ux 11 installed. Unfortunatelly I was out when the technician did the job and I has no detils about it.

Thanks all for your help and I hope that this info cuold help someone.
