Downgrading Firmware

Hello guys.

Based on a SAN firmware and software analisys performed by HP We need to downgrade our HBA driver version from B.11.11.13 FC-TACHYON to B.11.11.12 FC-TACHYON(PHSS_31326) on one of our servers.

How do you acomplish this ?
do I just install the required patch (PHSS_31326) to perform the downgrade ?

I know this is not recommended but this is required by HP because B11.11.12 is the recommended version.

Our server is a
Model: RP5470
OS: 11.11
it has the DEC06 QTY patches

If HP support recommend to downgrade they will also tell you how to do it, I'm sure.
Ask them.

They already did all the analysis.

is that tachyon or tach-Lite(XL2) card? what is the current "Tachyon TL Fibre Channel Driver Patch" you have.

You may have a higher version than PHSS_31326.Try pushing 31326 and there is more chance that it is going to fail detecting a newer version.

In the failure scenarion you have to remove the latest patch and push 31326 later.Remember when you remove the existing patch you will lose connection to all presently connected devices(disks/tapes).

Installing it require a reboot.
Could you tell what is the problem you have with the latest driver?

Hello,
I found that we had two systems both with dec 2006 quality pack one was built from the dec 2006 cds the other just patched. It seems that there is new release of the driver on the december cds , note the (AR0612) .
I would challenge HP to say if you realy need to back this off, and as the others said HP should tell you how .
If you have to go back you may need to swremove the driver and re-install and patch it from older cds .
