DP5.5 patch after client upgrade failed
Hi everyone,
I just installed the following patches on Data Protector 5.5 on an rp5470:
PHSS_35222 MA packet
PHSS_35534 CORE packet
Since then, then "check installation" and "upgrade" fuctionalities from the GUI don't work anymore.
When I select a client and perform either one of these operations, the job hangs:
[Normal] Starting installation session on 2006...
[Normal] Getting list of clients for installation...
I would like to fix this and not have to revert if possible.
Somebody help me.

Re: DP5.5 patch after client upgrade failed
Hi.
YOu will need to look in the following files for clues.
GUI client:
[DATA PROTECTOR ROOT]\log\debug.log
rp5470:
/var/opt/omni/log/debug.log
cell manager:
/var/opt/omni/server/log
/var/opt/omni/server/db40/datafiles/catalog/RDS.log
Also check permissions in the /etc/opt/omni/server/cell folder. We once had problems where the cell_info file was not world readable that gave us the same symptoms.
Can you connect to that server using telnet to port 5555?
Lastly as always check your name resolution and reverse lookups between our cell manager and client.
Regards
Andrew Y
