DR: Re-Establishment of Ignite Environment - Only Make_Net_Recovery Archives Available
Just wanting to compare methods and procedures on the above topic. We're shipping only the HDDs containing the make_net_recovery archives over to a DR site (But will soon utilize a replicated NAS).
So how do you re-establish your Ignite Infrastrucure to utilize these archives.? I guess what I'm asking is how do you re-configure the archives in either a new Ignite server or an existing Ignite Server.
Thanks!

Re: DR: Re-Establishment of Ignite Environment - Only Make_Net_Recovery Archives Available
Shalom Nelson, the harley man.
You need a single HP-UX system to act as the Ignite server. You should configure that with the same Ignite configuration as the system at your regular site. Then test recovering a system with a make_net_recovery archive.
To simply ship the disks there assumes that you can build the Ignite server. What if the disaster involves you not being able to do that?
You need an Ignite server, tests and a document that says how to do this on site at the DR center.

Re: DR: Re-Establishment of Ignite Environment - Only Make_Net_Recovery Archives Available
Thanks Steve..
What I'm really looking are step by step instructions on how to re-create /var/opt/ignite/clients entries so I can point to my make_net_recovery archives as restorable once I start ignite restoring systems.
I thought it is something similar to enshrining a Golden Image?
Anyone?
