Re: Ds4800 on HP
Not sure what you are asking. You should see two disk paths for each LUN, for example for LUN0 you would see cXt0d0, cYt0d0. One is always the primary and the other is always the alternate. Use the SMdevices utility to determine which is primary and which is alternate. Then you create your volume groups with the two paths as usually. If you need more details you have to tell me what you have done so far with in the array and the server.

Re: Ds4800 on HP
LUN0: c16t0d0, c14t0d0
LUN1: c16t0d1, c14t0d1
Normally on the DS4800, one LUN would be owned by controller A and the other by controller B. Right?
You need to install the IBM storage manager software on the server so that you know if controller A on the DS4800 corresponds to c16 or c14 server paths. Same for controller B. The software is on

What firmware is on the DS4800?

Re: Ds4800 on HP
ONE IMPORTANT NOTE
When you use the pvcreate command, only use it on the preferred/primary path of each LUN. If you use it with the alternate path, the DS4800 will change controller ownership. If this happens then you need to go in the DS4800 and change the controller ownership back to the prefered controller.
