We are using HP-UNIX 11 and DTC 48 Port. All DTC Ports are working fine and users is able to connect via terminals.
But we are not be able to reset DTC ports.
dtcreset dtcname board port
eg. dtcreset 68-02-19 and after that below error we are getting?
Error 203-Invalid board name for non DTC 16TN board.
Any suggestion?

Re: DTC reset problem
supposed to look like:
dtcreset dtcname board port
and you're saying:
dtcreset 68-02-19
then at least one of us is confused.
What is the dtcname? What is the board?
What is the port?
"68-02-19" looks to me like one parameter,
not three.

Re: DTC reset problem
Looked at the manual, your syntax is correct, however, what's this: "...non DTC 16TN board..."
Verify this is a DTC 16TN.

Re: DTC reset problem
Look again? Pages 50-51.
> your syntax is correct,
You know this how?
[...]
DTC Name Enter a name consisting of up to
8 alphanumeric characters. You can include
hyphens (-) and underscores (_) but the
first character must be alphabetic.
[...]
"68-02-19" would seem not to qualify.

> Verify this is a DTC 16TN.
He did say "DTC 48 [Port]", not "DTC 16TN".

It might help some future forum reader if you
explained what you did wrong before, and/or
what you did right later.

Re: DTC reset problem
Yes, I would also like to know the solution, as would others who follow with the same problem. For others with the same problem can use the ITRC search engine and see how to correct the problem from this thread.
Additionally, welcome to the forum. For organizational reasons, please close all threads and assign 0 to 10 points to ALL responses.
All response are tracked, and many statistically reports are geneerated at this level.
It's an stats accuracy thing.
Thanks!

Re: DTC reset problem
Actually we are using out customized scripts for restting the DTC's which further call dtcreset commands. Few days back we added a new DTC 72 ports and but we forget to add new DTC 72 in our scripts. This is the first problem.
Secondly if you want to reset DTC using the dtcreset command directly from root prompt, use below syntax. no dashes that I was using earlier.
dtcreset dtcname board port
eg. dtcreset dtc68 2 9
Again thx for all help.

Thanks for the explanation.

So, the first answer, which got fewer points
than any other (including the complete noise
responses), was the right one?
Ask me again why I value these points so
highly.
