DTCs / end of life for support
I have a DTC72 and several DTC48's which now have been relegated to running a few dot matrix text printers.
These HP DTC's (and, dtcmanager, I think) are no longer supportable on my HP support contract.
1. Is there a current HP DTC that is supportable?
2. If not, will HP-UX have any issues connecting to a third-party DTC, such as one from Black Box or similar supplier?

Re: DTCs / end of life for support
I would replace all your DTCs as soon as possible with JetDirect LAN-to-printer adapters. Serial printing is a museum oddity these days. I am very surprised that it still works -- or maybe you are not running 11.11 or later?

Re: DTCs / end of life for support
Hi Buddy,
I do agrred with the Above statements.
Replace the old printer with new One and have a HP Jetadmin Utility Installed.
HP Jetadmin Will allow to manage your IP base printer.
Good to see you that still you are working with DTC...

Re: DTCs / end of life for support
Thanks. Well, these text printers (Oki 320 and Oki 3410) aren't quite relics but they'll be around here for a long time. I can get network cards for them, it turns out. That will solve it.
