dtlogin

Is there a "quick and fast" way of switching from console mode to Monitor ( CDE) on a 9000/785/B2600 box running 10.20 OS.

I prefer not to reboot when i do the switch as I will be doing it very frequently..if this is at all possible

Many Thanks in Advance

Re: dtlogin

you can edit the /usr/dt/config/Xservers file to contain the X startup on the console. Then just restart the dtlogin

/sbin/init.d/dtlogin.rc stop
/sbin/init.d/dtlogin.rc start

Re: dtlogin

I would just run exceed or reflection on a PC and do that instead, don't know if you want to be switching like that all the time.

Just my opinion,

Re: dtlogin

Hi Ali,

If you are doing a switch between CDE and console, then exiting the console mode will get you back to CDE.

Make sure your /etc/rc.config.d/desktop has the entry DESKTOP=CDE.

Then run your /sbin/init.d/dtlogin.rc start to start the CDE session.
