Dual NIC's configed with same host name
I would like to setup two NIC's on a HP K200 running 10.20 HP-UX OS. Would like port aggregation as in 11.0 but know APG for 10.2 is incomplete. What other posabilities do I have for increasing bandwidth for clients that does not cost me anything, already have the two NIC's but one is not configured. Would it do me any good to configure the extra NIC with different IP address but same host name and when a client makes connection. The server would respond through the NIC with first responce? Would host names like server1 and server1-GW truncate to server1 on a network and all NIC cards with given host name respond.
Would this allow roll over to second NIC if first does not respond?

Re: Dual NIC's configed with same host name
hi
there is no mechanism in hp if one nic goes bad to switch over to another, we need to manually chnage over.for your case as concern incresae the bandwidth to 100mb, if you are already using 100mb, i feel it is better to go for fiber optic nic.
