dump_lvmtab

Hello folks,
I am looking for a util called dump_lvmtab. You can probably tell what it does.
I am searching for it, but can't find it. Can anyone help? I know how to care for and feed it, I just need to find it. Thanks in advance.

Re: dump_lvmtab

If you want to see the contents of your /etc/lvmtab file an easier way (doesn't require any extra software) is:

# strings /etc/lvmtab

Re: dump_lvmtab

Hi Leigh,

It was written by the GSE team in HP so you will need to contact your local response centre to get it. I'm not aware of it being freely available on any of the external ftp sites and I don't think we can distribute it via the forum.

Cheers,

James.

Re: dump_lvmtab

Thanks for the response. I originally got dump_lvmtab from a HP tech during a troubleshoot at a former engagement. It's really nice because it gives you all kinds of header and HEX stuff like VGID, PVID, which system it thinks it belongs to... etc.. Great for the SAN and Serviceguard environments. It basically gives you everything in the lvmtab but in readable form. Again thanks for your time.

Sorry, that last reply was to the first response. James, thanks, I'll have to break down and log a call. Glad I'm not chasing a ghost anymore. I knew I wasn't FULLY crazy, just mostly. Thanks to everyone.

Cheers.
