During boot of L-class, relocating PDC from 0xXXX...

Hi all,
I have encountered a puzzle not many have an answer for, involving an L1000.
At boot after PDC info, it brings up the statement: "alloc_pdc_pages: relocating PDC from 0xf0f0000000 to 0xfaab000".
Does anyone know what this is for and why it takes awhile to get past?

Tony:

See document #UXDNKBRC00003250. Normally the pdc_alloc_pages message is informational when OS is moving 32bit PDC code into 64bit main memory.

Tony,

The code is moved into memory where it can run more efficently. I wondered the same thing when I got my new N-Class. It can take a while but don't worry it will get past that point.

James:
Thanx for the quick response, the information info is good to know. But I can not search(from this page) out the document #UXDNKBRC00003250. I don't mean to be slow, but where do you find it?
TIA :)

No problem. Click Maintenance/Support on the left of the ITRC HOME page. The click Technical Knowledge Base. Toggle search by Doc-ID. For your convenience I've attached the document too.
