DVD copieng in RX 3600

Advnace Thanx to all.....

I am facing a problem while copieng the content of a 4 GB dvd rom to Local/SAN patrtiton.
Its taking 2 hours to copy all the data to the SAN/Local Filesystems.
Am able to FTP it from some other server (rp 3440)to this in a normal time. The dvd is copied within 15 min to the rp3440 server.

What has to be done for this?

Kindly help...

Thanx an rgds,

Prasanth

How are you copying the contents of the DVD? Are you using cp? The specific command may help us to narrow down your problem.

Re: DVD copieng in RX 3600

Hi all,

I was used the "cp -r" command for both the servers.I was TRYING to copieng the oracle DVD'S. I was mounted the oracle cd by using the "Mount" command and then i tried to copy while using the cp command.

Note: i changed the largfile support to the mount point where am copying the dvd's(it was having nolargefiles and changed it busing the fsadm command and changed it in to the "/etc/fstab" file).

The same command i tried in the rp 3440 server and it was working fine. From that server all the copied 15 dvd's archied by tar and and ftp to rx3600 server. It was arounf 35GB and it was done within 40 min.

Please revert me for any clarification.

Thanx and rgds,
