DVD ROM drive

We have an external Smart Desktop DVD-ROM drive,product number: C4314A with our A500. Can I write to CDs with this drive? I cannot find any documentation about this product on the web. Can anyone out point me to some User Guide document?

You Cann't write to CDs beaucouse it's read only.

if you are able to write then it must be a CD writer. All the HP m/c's comes with CDROM drive which is read only.

You cant write CD's on HP's DVD ROM drives, theyre read only. One day you will be able to get a writeable DVD drive, but only on PC's for now, HP-UX one day.

You need to go to docs.hp.com and search for the manual;
"Hewlett-Packard A5220A DVD-ROM" All the details on your DVD drive are in there.
