Re: edquota querry
Here,
assigning 100 blocks to particular user as a soft limit and 200 blocks as hard limit.
If you want to see the block size of that filesystem,
# fstyp -v
Thanks & Regards
Ramesh

Re: edquota querry
Disk quotas can be used by the system administrator to limit the number of files and file blocks owned by a user on a per-file-system basis. Separate limits can be established for both the number of files (inodes) and the number of 1-Kbyte blocks for each user.
....so you specify the number of 1-Kbyte blocks for the limit you wish to set.

Re: edquota querry
--------------------------
df -g /home
/home (/dev/vg00/lvol_home ) :
8192 file system block size 8192 fragment size
1310720 total blocks 735579 total free blocks
729838 allocated free blocks 192192 total i-nodes
183890 total free i-nodes 183890 allocated free i-nodes
1073741830 file system id vxfs file system type
0x18 flags 255 file system name length
/home file system specific string
----------------
but when i have set quota for block size (soft=100, hard=200) I go the message "msgcnt 3 vxfs: mesg 042: vx_bsdquotaupdate - /home file system user 1101 disk limit reached" when i have reached 1.13 GB of /home for my account, but when i have set the quota for a different user for block size (soft=10, hard=20) it is giving me the same message after he has crossed almost same size as that of mine, can anyone answer my qoestion as to why this is happening?
I tried everything after that, including quotaon, unmounting and remounting of /home, but nothing worked, can anyone please help?
