EDT change

Do i need to change the time zone paremeters
in the environment variable when there is a
roll back , the current variable is
EST=5EDT, also how can i stop
cron temporarily for one hour.

Hi:

You don't need, nor want to do anything! Read the man pages for cron for a full explanation. The time-change occurs without any intervention by you.

There are a few areas in the world where the time change has been a problem. Alaska and Australia have had some special needs. HOWEVER: EST/EDT will not be a problem. All you need to do is nothing.
