elm wrong hour

Hello everyone

when sending mail using sendmail, date and time are correct. But when sending message using elm - command line not interface, the date and time are incorrect.
Where as sendmail is using TZ environment setting as configured in sendmail.cf what does elm use ?

Thanks in advance

Regards.

Re: elm wrong hour

do you have a $HOME/.elm/elmrc

file?

Is it equal to the difference between TZ and gmt?

Re: elm wrong hour

Hi,

This is a long shot, but :-

The timezone kernel parameter could be wrong.
We've set ours to

timezone 0

to get round issues with the wrong time being reported in the syslog. This may help. Perhaps you could try it on a test server.

HTH,

Dave.

Re: elm wrong hour

Hi again

No, I don??t have the $HOME/.elm/elmrc file (I??ve tryied that one too), I just have the last_read_mail file in the $HOME/.elm directory.

And about the timezone, all is correct - that was the first aproach!

I hope you can help me with this info :-)

Re: elm wrong hour

Hi,

The time stamp the recipient sees is affixed by the receiving system & progresses backwards from relay server - to - relay server.
I'd have the recipient check the time on the receiving system. You can look at the SMTP headers to see exactly what time each server was stamping.
