Email locking problems

N4000 machine running HPUX 11.00 using sendmail. We are experiencing the following error message from users mailboxes :

'Temp Maildrop lock busy!'

Suggesting that another session is active.

From a unix perspective, can anyone shed light on such mail locking errors ?

Nothing in the HP database.

From a google search:

Problem: Attempts to check mail generate one of the above errors.

Solution: This will happen if a connection made to the POP server has been broken abnormally. The mailbox will usually reset itself automatically in a few minutes. The server clears up old or dead POP processes every 30 minutes, which should correct the problem. This can also happen if another connection is currently open to your mailbox (i.e., if you are checking mail with more than one mail program, such asWebMail)
