Need some help on EMC Power Path on HP unix.
I have installed the EMCPP on a hp machine which has Veritas volume manager also.
HOw to initialise the disks using EMCPP so that the disks are seen under the control of EMCPP ?
Thanks in advance.

Re: EMC Power Path
It would help to know the version of Power Path. The model of the HP-UX system. The Version of HP-UX.
Maybe this document will help:
http://www.emc.com/microsites/clariion-support/pdf/300-005-166.pdf
Could you perhaps share the document you are using?

Re: EMC Power Path
2) #ioscan -fnC disk
3) #insf -e
4) powermt config
5) powermt save
6) powermt display
7) powermt display dev=all
use the c*t*d* from powermt output and use this on LVM / VXVM.

Re: EMC Power Path
However,still some issues :
First I assigned external disks from clariion array[multiple paths] to my HP 11.23 machine.
Then installed the EMCPP 5.1 on the machine.
ioscan -C disk shows the disks properly but powermt display dev=all shows initialization error as I didnt reboot the machine after installing EMCPP.If I reboot the machine,it just hangs after "Starting EMC Powerpath "
Any suggestions ?

Re: EMC Power Path
you should reboot the machine because during the installation is a kernel modification required.

Re: EMC Power Path
on a IA-64 ( hp-ux 11.23 ), the boot takes some minutes, this was the reason why we don't upgraded it on our system.

Re: EMC Power Path
if you have a account on powerlink.emc.com
check this "Install PowerPath 5.1.0 Hot Fix 4 causes boot sequence to increase." in the knowledge base.
