EMC PowerPath and HP Support
Is it true that HP will void all support if they find out you installed EMC's
PowerPath product for load-balancing I/O across multiple SCSI cards using
PVLinks?

Re: EMC PowerPath and HP Support
Last summer I had these discussions with HP. Powerpath makes a modification to
the kernel and HP will not provide support if a third party modifies the
kernel. Sounded silly then and still does as any database or large ERP package
you would put on a server requires kernel mods.
An option is too keep an alternate kernel without Powerpath mods. handy. If
you have problems boot from the Powerpath free kernel and see if the problem
persists. If the problem follows the Powerpath kernel you'll need help from
EMC.
