EMC San disks seen by ioscan, not by SAM or vxvm
ioscan -fnC disk
insf -e
vxdctl enable
and the disks still won't show up in a vxdisk list. Tried going into SAM to "label" the disks, but they aren't showing up there either. Here is my ioscan showing controller 6 disks which need to be added:

according to one of my colleagues, itâ s usually solved once youâ ve labeled the disks correctly and run â vxdisk scandisksâ .

Sorry about the unprintable chars...
according to one of my colleagues, it's usually solved once you have labeled the disks correctly and executed "vxdisk scandisks".

Re: EMC San disks seen by ioscan, not by SAM or vxvm
How do I go about labeling the disks correctly when SAM doesn't even see them? And I have done a vxdsik scandisks with nothing new showing up.

Re: EMC San disks seen by ioscan, not by SAM or vxvm
I think all the EMC disks are properly claimed in ioscan output. You can try by reinitializing VxVM Cofiguration daemon( #vxconfigd -k). This should make all the claimed disks visible to VxVM.
Thanks

Re: EMC San disks seen by ioscan, not by SAM or vxvm
See if the following line appears:
libvxemc.sl EMC SYMMETRIX
In some cases removing this library will make it visible to vxvm
To add it:
vxddladm includearray=libvxemc.sl
To remove it:
vxddladm excludearray-libvxemc.sl
Followed by removing it, do
vxdctl enable
vxconfigd -k -m enable
vxdisk list
Hope the disks show up.
