today my unixsystem decided to boycot one of its disks. I don't know why, nothing has changed, no other errormessages were generated, just this one. When I start STM everything looks normal. The disk is not monitored when I check with monconfig. And yes, the versions of EMS and STM are old but they will be updated this weekend.
Is this very serious or can I ignore this?
Greetings,
Karin

Re: EMS Disk Alert
I would just run ioscan on the disk like recommended, If nothing has changed on the system I would ignore it until you update EMS, if after the software was updated you keep on getting the same error, then I would start looking what's going on with the system.
Regards,
Jaime.

Re: EMS Disk Alert
all seems normal, it's strange than your disl have been unmonitored without action...
as has said Jaime, the best is to wait for upgrade and to keep a look on the events.
however, what's happen if you reconfigure ems to monitore this disk?

Cedrick Gaillard

Re: EMS Disk Alert
Actually, A.52.00 is not that old :-) . I would suggest either opening a support case with HP, or going ahead with the planned upgrade, and then opening a support call if the problem persists. This shouldn't happen, but I suspect that the cause may be hard to track down and will probably need HP support to investigate in detail.
It's serious in the sense that that particular disk is not being monitored, and that this behaviour is not supposed to happen.

Re: EMS Disk Alert
I would raise a call with HP to confirm root cause.
