I have set up EMS with the following check:
8) Send events generated by all monitors
with severity >= SERIOUS to EMAIL [mycell]
We had one of our HP9000 VA7100 controllers go south over the weekend, and EMS sent me 82 seemingly identical pages (see attached). Is there a way to minimize the number of pages for an identical/similar alert? Thank you.

Hi Lonny,
As well as making sure you have a current version of OnlineDiags (and you do have a current version), make sure your version of CommandView is up-to-date; that's what is actually generating the events. What version of CommandView do you have? There have been changes in the area of
The config file for RemoteMonitor controls how frequently you will see the events, but by default it does not suppress any. The reason for this is that 199 is a generic event, with multiple possible causes which are detailed in the event text. It's therefore not a good idea to limit the number of them to one a day or similar since you might miss one of more problems. However, it would be possible to do this to work around a specific problem.
