EMS HA monitors vs 'standard' monitors

Hi,
I've had a customer query about responsiveness of EMS. As far as I can determine EMS has two classes of monitors:

'standard', which interface with EMS via psmmon (eg. /system/status/*, /storage/status/* )and whose poll intervals are generally 60 minutes according to /var/stm/config/tools/monitor/MONITOR_NAME.cfg.

and HA monitors (/vg/*, /net/interfaces/* ) which use mibmond, have no configurable poll interval but because they support Service Guard are presumably asynchronous or very short polling.

So my question is, am I right in assuming that an EMS monitor of say /storage/status/disks/default/0_0_1_0.1.0 may not notice disk variable for 60 minutes, irregardless of the EMS poll interval specified?

Any help / pointers appreciated,

John
